Assemblage Art Box
I tried my hand at making an art box with the help of an expert, Vera Tracy. This box contains some treasures from our trip to Japan in 1988 as well as other items I have collected over the years. Bob was on an international panel of wind and earthquake engineers and would travel to Japan every other year. The wives of the Japanese engineers took such good care of me, and I will always remember them fondly.

Easton House & FlagEast
Yesterday our friend, Virginia, took us to Easton to see the plein air painters. That morning, they had 2 hours to complete a painting, start to finish, then frame it for the judging and sales. Needless to say, it was hot, hot, hot. Regardless, they turned out some very nice paintings.
I did this one when I returned home last evening.

Learning to use oil paint
I have had a set of oil paints for six month, waiting to absorb how to paint with them from the ozone or something. My friend, Verda, told me that I needed to mix them with some oil medium and put them down in layers. This is my first attempt using her advice. More to follow, I hope.
