Photographing under glass

Trying out my new polarizing lens to photograph paintings under glass.  I don't have the heart to undress these paintings to photograph for digital entries.

Our Paintings on Display at the Strathmore

Bob and I went to see the exhibit of beautiful miniature art at the Strathmore Mansion.  There were some awesome little paintings.  Bob and I feel honored to have our art included in this international art show.  The camel is mine.  He had a red dot (meaning that he was sold),  The old farm house is Bob's.  That house is outside of Abingdon, VA.

Haulin Christmas

My latest commission.  The buyer of this whole sheet painting, 22 x 30", was great fun to work with and I had a hard time parting with it.  Someday, I will do a series of Haulin' Christmas paintings.  Last Sunday, I saw trees being hauled on top of so many vehicles including Mercedes sedans and Volkswagen Beetles.  The possibilities are endless.

Kay's Kurly Kale

Kay's Kurly Kale 9 x 12" watercolor
I like to sit at my front window and sip my morning coffee.  Recently, the sunlight was so beautiful on the ornamental kale I planted that I had to photograph and paint it.  Thanks Rachel.

Positano Mannequin Watercolor on Gold Gesso

This is from a photo I took in Positano.  They have mannequins sitting or standing in the proximity of the shops instead of using store windows.  She is a mini, 2.5 x 3/5", and I hope to do one similar in a larger size.  The underpainting is gold gesso, so she has a bit of a sparkle where the gold peeks through the watercolor.
