Jet Lag Day One

Awakening at 3:00 AM is to be expected first day back with a 6 hour time difference.  That would be sleeping to 9:00 am Madrid time.  It wasn't so bad because my Muse wanted me to join her in the studio.  Look what we did.  I call it Fire Bird.

Abstract on Tile

I finally got to use some of the rust I collected at the junk yard last week.  This is a 12x12" abstract, painted on vinyl floor tile, and embellished with rust from a Dodge Caravan, circular paper clips and paint skins.

What a Delightful Surprise

When I went to pick up my painting, Tribal Dancer,  from the Art League of Alexandria's January show, it was nowhere to be found.  When I asked, I learned that it was sold.  I love those kinds of surprises.

Paint Skin Paintings

One of the things I learned from Carrie Burns Brown was to use butcher paper as an acrylic pallet.  When the pain builds up some, coat it with gel medium and let dry.  Once it is dry, you can gently lift the paint off in sheets.  What fun it has been to play with these sheets of paint skins.
