This is the painting I started at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop Art Feast, June in Bloom, on June 11th. Our instructor guided us through the process of creating a frame worthy painting using her reference photos and techniques.
Grandpa's House 2.5 x 3.5"
Bob is working on something similar, so I had to give it a try. This is patterned after a delapidated house near Abingdon, VA. I think it must have looked much like this in its hayday, rusted roof and all.
I love the process of painting on canvas with watercolor. The paint is applied in huge blotches, then the subject is lifted and manipulated. Once it it just right, dry it and spray with varnish. This is a mini, 2.5 x 3.5'.
